(Per Press Associatlou.) Duxedin, July 8. Cornelius Henderson, a farmer 62 years oi a^e, was found dead in bed at Waikaia Flat. He lived alone for many years. The annual report of the Directors of the Mornington Tramway Coy. states that after debiting profit and loss account with interest on debenturs, there is available £1312 los lOd. They recommend a dividend at the rate of 7 per cent., ab sorbing £882, leaving £400 lus lOd to be carried forward. During the year 514,281 persons travelled. The Henley Brothers, rabbiters, supposed to have been lost in the snow ftt Naseby, have been found safe. AFCKLAND, July 8. Eequisitions are being signed to Messrs Richard Monk and J. M. Shera to stand for the City. Mr Shepherd Allen fully and absolutely refused to stand. The Tasmania has brought 48 horses from Sydney, eight of them for Wellington. Soundings taken by H.M.S. Penguin on her voyage from Sydney gave a depth of between 2000 and aOOO fathoms, the shallowest behag about 1700 fathoms as the New Zealand coast was approached. Christchurch, July 8. At the annual meeting of the Board of Governors of Canterbury College to-day, Mr H. R. Webb was re-elected chairman. He submitted a report on the various institutions under the control of the Board. At a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Industrial Exhibition it was decided to request the Governor to open the Exhibition on August the 29th, and to invite members of Parliament to be present at some time during its progress. Various sub-Committees presented satisfactory reports. Napiku, July 8. Bentley's store at Mahia, including the post office, bns been destroyed by fire.
