Floods in Canterbury.
(Per Press Association). CuRiSTCHuacH, July 8. Serious floods reported in the Ellsmere district". All the low lying lands are covered with water, and the distress and loss among the settlers' is considerable. The Lake is higher than has been known for twenty years. It is also feared that a missing boy has been drowned. It is still raining and bitterly cold, and shows no sign of clearing.
