Walters (Congregationalism, a Roman Catholic priest, who was amongst the speakers, urged the necessity for ministers of all denominations uniting to* gether on the one broad platform of Christian pliilantrophy to rescne the masses from the greatest enemy church, and state have to fear. A man fell into a trance in Galicm, and awoke as he was being carried to the grave. He said he had been to lieaven and God had given him permission to return to earth again if he would strive to convince the peasants how bad the drinking of spirits was for their bodies The inhabitonts of several yilN ages have taken an oath that they will never drink spirits again.
