Wool Sales.
A FURTHER. RISE IN PEICE. (Per Press Association.) London, July 8. At the wool sales the opening rates were fully maintained. Lower crossbreds are especially sought, and have risen 15 per cent. There is also strong competition for better class merinos. Home and American buyers are the chief operators. The strong tendency of the market is due to Americans buying so freely. German and French buyers, especially the latter, have done almost nothing but it is expected they will operate shortly. * " Bayswater," New Zealand brought 9-3-d perlb. The New Zealand Loan and Mercan- | tile Agency Company (Ltd.), kindly supply us from their Wanganui office with the following Market cable, dated July 3rd : Wool — The sales opened at an average advance of about 7.j per cent on last sale's closing rates. The principal advance has been in crossbred and coarse crossbred. Attendance of both Home and Foreign buyers is good Competition by both Home and Foreign is active. The total quantity available including wool held over from last series is 480,000 bales, 94,000 bales of which have been forwarded to the manufacturing districts direct.
