(Per Press Associaiton.) ] London, July 2. \ ! Sir Brodrick, on whose motion the \ Rosebery Government were defeated, / will be Under Secretary for War. ! Mr Long ie President of the Board j of Agriculture, and Mr Gerald Bal four will probably be Secretary for Ireland. Mr Chamberlain receives the Agents-General to-day. The Unionist press urge tbo Government, to pass the Factory Bill. The Times says Mr Chamberlain hopes fo further the interests of Canada and Australia by the development of commercial and other intercourse. He is keenly interested in the maintenance of Britain's position in the Pacific, and if ho inaugurates a new era of Imperial initiative and mutual co operation, it will be witb the fullest recognition of the principle of local Government as applied to the colonies.
