The Gourlay and Stokes Company.
This company, which numbers sixteen all told, came over from Sydney at the end of last year, and is now drawing its New Zealand tour to' a close. They have recently been playing to splendid houses at the Theatre Royal, Christchurch, and at the Opera House, Wellington, where they have fairly " hit them " this week. Last Monday, the opening night in Wellington, the Governor and Lady Glasgow, Colonel Fox, Captain Johnson and the officers of H.M.S. Rinparooma, Commander Adams and the officers of H.M S. Pylades, the Premier and Mrs Seddon honored the company with their patronage and presence despite the inclement weather. The burlesque " Revels," with its amusing situations, its clever " business," its songs, dances, bright dresses and pretty faces, will doubtless prove most refreshing to patrons of the Assembly Rooms on Monday.
