Assessment Court.
(Before Mr Stanford, Judge.) A sitting of the above Court was held at the Painierston Court-house jresterda3 r , for the purpose of reviewing assessments of land within the Boroughs of Palmerston North, Feilding andFoxton, and the Counties. of Manawatu, Oroua, Kiwitea, and Pohangina. Mr T. Kennedy MacDonald appeared on behalf of the Department to sustain the assessments. The following were reduced by consent :— J. Boyne, C. Bull, and Morrison Bros. Patrick Thomas Fair, part section 557, Block X, Kairanga, 124 acres ; valuation sustained. Mr Innes for objector. William Coombs, section 617, Linton ; valuation reduced by £866, or equal to £3 per acre. Lethbridge and Sons. The valuations of the whole of the property of Lethbridge and Sons were sustained. The consideration of the objections of C. A. Johnston was adjourned till Friday 26th July next. Mr Hankins appeared for Mr Johnston. Colonial Bank: All valuations sustained. Mr Hankins appeared for the Bank. John Carter, valuation reduced to £400 on one section, and .£450 on another. Mr Baker for objector. , A considerable number of objections were struck out, owing to the non-appear-ance of the objectors.— Standard.
