Excelsior Skating Rink.
The above skating rink will be open to the public this (Saturday) evening in the Assembly Rooms, and as the management have gone to some considerable expense in obtaining a first class collection of the latest design in American roller skates, we trust to see their enterprise and energy rewarded by a large attendance of our local ' rinkists.' A revival of what has always been considered a healthy and invigorating pasttime will no doubt be gladly welcomed as a pleasing innovation at the present time, seeing that it presents a favorable opportunity for the enjoyment of an attractive form of amusement during the winter evenings. The musical programme being in the able hands of Mr Haybittlc is in itself a sufficient guarantee that this all-important adjunct will not be neglected. All the arrangements in connection with the enterprise having been satisfactorily completed the rink will be opened under the most favourable auspices, and given fine weather it is anticipated there will be a large number indulgJßg-in the whirliug and fascinating joys of roller skating this evening. ____^_^____
