N.Z. RUGBY UNION.
Welijnctos, June 16. The Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union met last night. Considerable correspondence was read from the New South Wales and Queensland Unions, in reference to the dates of the Queensland tour. The Queensland Union was desirous of falling in with the proposal of the New Zealand Union, that their team should leave Sydney by the Monowai oa August sth, and had applied to the New South Wales Union to arrange an earlier date than the 10th and 17th of August, previously fixed upon for the New South Wales-Queensland matches at Brisbane, and this New South Wales had replied it would be unable to do, as it would upset all its fixtures. It was decided to cable to the New South Wales and Queensland Unions, pointing out that if the team did not leave Sydney as early as August sth the success of the tour would be imperilled, and that to come at any later date would be most inconvenient to the New Zealand Unions. It was also decided to suggest that if the New South Wales and Queensland matches could not be played early enough to enable the Queensland team to leave by the Monowai, they should be postponed till the team returned, and could be played during the second week in September.
