Messrs Abraham and Williams report : The entry on Saturday was a moderate one. The tone of the market was dull throughout, a limited number only being sold. Upstanding hacks, L8 ; others L2 5s to L 2 10s , harness horses made ill. Nolan, Tonks and Co report :— At Eltham on 4th inst., there was a fair muster of sheep and cattle. Bidding wai slack yet most lines were cleared. Cows were in good condition, and sold from £4 10s to L 7 15s; springing heifers, L 3 15s to L 4 10s ; 2 year heifers. JL3 8s to Lo 11s: weaner heifers, 29s ; draft filly, LlB. At Eltham — Calves, 12s to 15s; weaners,l6s to 225 ; yearlings, 26s to 30s ; 2-yr heifers 35s to 37s 6d ; store cows, L27s6d to L 2 15s ; springers, L 4 15s; dairy cowe, L47s to L 5. At Hawera — Springing heifers, LI 2s 6d to L 4 15s : fat cows, L 3 19s to L6 8s ; forward cows, L3 5s to L3 7s 6d ; store cows, L 2 10s to L 2 15s ; 2s-year steers, L3 7s 6d to L 3 10s; 18 month steers, 37s to 408 ; yearlings, 30s ; weaners, 15a to 225 ; 2-yr steers, L 2 i4s. Sheep — At Eltham -Fat sheep, 5s lid to 6s 8d ; store ewes, 4s 6d. At HaWMft 2. tooth ewes in lamb, 7s 3d to 7s 9d ; lambs 4s 6d.
