Stock Markets.
Messrs Abraham and Williams report r— A moderate muster of sheep came forward at Palmerston yesterday. Contrary to recent experiences, the bulk sold under the hammar, which imparted consequently a much more cheerful tone. Suitable wethers advanced 6d per bead over receut sales. The demand for lambs was more vigorous than of late, which had a hardening effect upon this class of stock. The demand throughout was of such a nature as to eflect a total clearance. Sheep — Forward store ewes, 5s 6d ; others, 4s 6d ; 2 tooth ewes, 6s 8d; empty, 8s 7d ; well-bred breeding ewes, mixed ages, 6s 6d ; lambs, 3s 3d to 3s lOd.
