Prospects of Gold in Wairoa.

o [Per Press Association [ . Napier, June 3. A prospecting party left Wairoa three weeks ago for the interior, and have returned after a very rough trip, being much impeded by rain. They brought in some nice prospects of a reef of gold, and blacksand in the bed of a creek. The prospects are about a grain to the dish. They traced gold for about two miles between two points, sinking two to throe feet, but were unable to bottom it owing to the heavy boulders and excessive water. They are of the o\ iuion that it will prove a payable reefing country, but will want fine weather before going out again. They rre re'icent as to the exact locality, but state it is on Crown lands adjacent to the Urewera country.
