The Library Committee will meet on Monday next at 7.30 p.m. The Feildmg State School Committee will meet on Monday evening at 7.30. At a meeting of the directors of the Longburn Freezing Company ou Thursday, it was unanimously decided that tlic Company be wound up. A copy of the resolution lias been forwarded to the Supreme Court. The name of Grestown South (Otago) has been officially changed to Allanton, and the name of Oxford (Auckland) to Tirau. The County Council of Wairarapa North is required to find a new name for Hawerain the Forty Mile Bush. The action of the Auckland Coroner, Dr Philson, at the recent inquest on the remains of Mr Grubb is severely commented upon in Auckland. A post mortem examination having been made, the Coroner ordered the heart of the deceased to be brought into the jury-room, as it "would be interesting to see." Richie returned yesterday from an official trip to the Auckland district. While there he took occasion to visit the- Government plantation at Wairangi, in the Waikato, where 500 acres have been planted with wattles. The trees arc thriving, and another 200 acres are to be similarly planted in October next. On his return overland Mr Ritchie visited the experimental farm at Momohaki, near Wavcrley, where experiments in the treatment of sheep are being carried on.
