MAY WEATHER, 1895. TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAB. Siu, — April and May seem to have changed places as regards rainfall since 1894. The rainfall for the past month of May was 1-97 inches, and for April G'39 inches, but in 1894 the rainfall in May was 6-95 inches, and in April 1-67 inches. The heaviest fall during the past month was 0 50 inches on the 20th, and rain was registered on twelve days during the month. There were five frosty nights, but only two degrees of frost were registered. The mean temperature at 9.30 a.m. was 47.58 degrees. The maximum heat was 68 degrees on the Bth, and the minimum cold 30 degrees during the nights of the lltb, 22nd, and 29th instants. I am, etc , S. GOODBEHERE, Feilding, June Ist, 1895.
