Proposed Legal Status for Athletic Bodies.

(Per Press Association). Wellington, May 31. The representatives of athletic governing bodies held a conference this afternoon to consider the best means of securing proper legal recognition of athletic bodies. It was urged that with the growing importance of athletic organisations it was advisable that they should be put on some more satisfactory basis, and that the Registrar should be empowered to register them as co-operate bodies. It was resolved that steps be taken to secure the legal incorporation of athletic bodies, and that the Premier be asked to receive members of the conference as a deputation to lay before him proposals which it was desired should be given legal effect to. The conference was called by the New Zealand Rugby Union.
