♦ (Per Press Association) [ Wellington, May '60. The Chief Justice was occupied today iv hearing another Wanganui case. This is a motion for a new trial in the case in which a Wangauui jury awarded Thomas Surnian £450 and costs in an action for £"600 damages for illegal distraint. A new trial is sought on the grounds that the verdict was against the weight of evidence, aud that the damages were excessive. Judgment was reserved.
