The Mother Country and Colony.
[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION!. London. May 30 The London Chamber of Commerce entertained Lord Brassey at a farewell dinner to-day, about 150 guests, including Mr Ward, being present. Mr Ward ask; . d those present for their cordial support in connection with the Pacific cable and the steamer services, and urged that the success of these undertakings would afford a better proof of the feeling of England and would do more to unite the Empire than any number of platitudes. He warned Great Britain that other countries were striving to divert her colonial trade.
