Wellington Land Board.
The regular meeting of the above was held yesterday. Present — The Commissioner (Mr J. H. Baker), and Messrs W. A. Fitzherbert, T. W. Fisher, A. W. Hogg, M.H.R., and Fred. Pirani, M.H.R. The following applications to obtain titles were approved : — C. E. Lindsay, section 7, Block 11, Pohangina j Brewster and Wottea, section 76, Block 11, Apiti ; J. R. Davies, section 16, Block XVI, Ongo. Transfers approved : — R. Bredin to T. H. Bredin, section U, Block XIV, Ongo ; M. A. H. Emmett to J. W. Copithorne, section 3, Block XI, Pohangina ; A. V. and H. H. Venables to T. Stretton, section 15, Block VI, Pohangina. Leases not signed and sections forfeited : — W. A. Boshier, section 11, Block VII, Salisbury Association ; J. T. H. Whisker, section 12, Block VII, Salisbury Association. Application to capitalise approved :- L>. Johnston, section 35, Block XV, Apiti; K.Taylor, section 11, Block VII, Apiti. It was resolved to offer the lease of section 91, Block 14, Apiti, for fourteen years, at Is 6d per acre. It was resolved that unless N. Martin resides on section 13, Block 111, Apiti, to the satisfaction of the Board, the land be forfeited. The Pohangina County Council was allowed to use certain thirds for ordinary expenditure on supplying inforination required. The Commissioner informed the Board that it was intended to keep forfeited sections suitable for occupation by co-operative workmen. The ranger was instructed to report on several applications of leases to take partners. A. Hart's application to transfer section 10, Block XVI, Apiti, Salisbury Block, to F. Davis, was granted, owing to special circumstances. The transfer of section 21, Block IV, Pohangina Association, from J. M. Turner to E. F. Eaj>ar, was refused, and it was decided to call en the former for an explanation to show why his interest should not be forfeited. X L. Wildbore's application to transfer section 33, Block IV, Pohangina Association, was refused. The transfer of L. R. Tucker's interest in the Gladstone Association was not agreed to, but the Board decided to accept a surrender and weight the land with the survey fees. The Board decided to ask the Minister of Justice to enquire into the circumstances of a Wellington Justice of the Peace witnessing a declaration which had been signed by one man on behalf of another, without anything to show that such was the case.
