Baron Sir Ferdinand Von Mueller, the well-known botanist, has received a German paper called the German and Australian Post, which publishes a statement that the Arctic exploring ship Algir has reached the North Polo, and Mueller is inclined to believe that the information is authentic. The paper says that the Pole was reached by means o£,au aluminium boat on wheels. After a long journey in open water a long line of porous rocks was met with, running from east to west. Beyond this formation the open water was again met. The region is said to teem with birds and fish life.
