Manchester Rifles.
■♦ A meeting- of the Shooting Committee was held at tho J?eikliny Hotel last night. Present — Lt. flalcomhe (in the chair), Lt. Bray, Sgt. Petherick, Vols. Saywell, Scott, Kvans and the Secretary. The minutes of the previous meeting- were read and confirmed. The Secretary reported that Messrs Pearson, Scott, Petherick, Wilson, Kade and Halcombo. had kindly donated prizis to be fired for on the Queen's Birthday. It was decided that Mr Pearson's special prize be awarn<d to the highest aggregate scorer who has taken I art in at least five competitions during- the season. Resolved, That the shooting- tomorrow start at 10 a.m. Messrs Scott, Saywell and the Secretary were appointed a sub-Com-mittee to make final arrangements on the rang-e. The ranges were fixed at 300, 000, and 000 yards. It was resolved that a hearty vote of thanks ha accorded to Lieut. Halcombe for his assistance on the Shooting- Committee.. The meeting; then adjourned.
