(Per Press Association). Brisbane. May IS. The eight oared intercolonial boat race was rowed to-day and won by Victoria, and New South Wales second, Queensland third. Victoria jumped away with a slight advantage, and though hard pressed throughout the race succeeded in maintaining it, eventually winning by a length, the same distance separating the second and third boats. Time, 16min 6secs. Champion Sculling Race. — Powell (Melbourne), 1; Lambert (Sydney), 2. Stack (Brisbane, who was the only other starter, did not finish. The race, which was rowed in darkness, was so far as could be seen a good contest, and was won by a length. Time, 21min 4sec.
