A VESSEL LOSES nun OFFICERS. (Per Press Association) Pkkth, This Day. The steamer Tagliaferro sighted the ship Oberfoyle off the coast, Hying signals of distress. The vessel was bound from Fredrickstadt to Melbourne with timber. Captain Robertson died mysteriously on May Ist, leaving three orphan children on board, while Norton, the first mate, was washed overboard shortly afterwards during a heavy gale. As the vessel carried no second mate the position was perilous, but the sailmaker volunteered to navigate her, and brought the ship to the coast. The second mate of Tagliaferro will navigate the vessel to Melbourne.
