The Leonard Harper Case.

(Per Press Association). Wellington, May 17. Mr Skerreft, in the absence of Mr Gully, Crown Prosecutor, has been sent to Christchurcb to collect evidence in the Leonard Harper case, which is to be forwarded to London on behalf of the Government. This evidence will be taken charge of by Inspector Pender, who has also gone to Christchurch, and who will proceed to England, probably at the end of the month. The specific charges to be brought will be determined by the evidence forthcoming. Inspector Pender will also take with him the confession made by Evison of an old time English murder. The Inspector will go alone but it is expected that Scotland Yard will send an officer out to bring Evison Home for trial.
