Manawatu Rugby Union.
_•> A meetings of the Manawatu Kugby Union was held at Mr Bastings' Hotel, Feilding, last evening. The following delegates were present — Messrs Harris (Half-Holiday Club), A. C. Matheson, P. Giesen (Feilding), Prendergast, Palmar (Palmerston), Macmillan and H. Nash (Pirates). Mr Harris was voted to the chair. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence was read from the New Zealand Rugby Union confirming the disqualification of L. Isherwood. Also, re levy. Also, re the Bangitikei Union's applioation for affiliation and suggesting it should be affiliated through some other Union. From Awahuri Club, asking that W. Broughton and C. Tarrant be ap. pointed referees, and H. Bishop was nominated as a vice-president of the Union. From Marton Club, withdrawing from the Union. From Rangitikei Rugby Uuion askißg for affiliation as a branch of M.R.U. Mr Pawson waited on the meeting in support of the R.R.U application for affiliation to the M.R U. He said they would continue to work as a separate union and only wished to obtain connection with the N.Z.R.U. Resolved, That the Rangitikei Union be accepted as a branch of the Manawatu Union. Resolved, That the levy be paid to the N.Z.R.U. Resolved, That this Union's delegate to the N.Z.R.U. be thanked for his action on such union. Proposed by Mr Giesen, seconded by Mr Nash, That this Union take into consideration the advisability of procuring a cup, medals, or banner, to be presented to the winner of the senior and junior championships.— Carried. Resolved, That medals, suitably inscribed, be procured by the Union for the winners of the senior and junior championships. Resolved, That a levy of Is per member be collected from members of the senior teams, .and 6d per member from the junior teams to cover cost of medals. Resolved, That any team forfeiting two matches consecutively, or three at intervals, be disqualified. Resolved, That all junior clubs be asked to forward the nam* of one person to act as junior match committee, the Union to make final selections. Messrs Matheson, Harris, and Palmer were appointed a sub-Commit-tee to revise rules and report at a subsequent meeting. Proposed by Mr Nash, seconded by Mr Prendergast, That J. Robinson, Stewart, and Martini, be disqualified for one month from date for playing for two clubs. That the Feilding and Awahuri clubs be censured for allowing them to play. That in the case of any other players offending in the same mannerjthey be suspended during the pleasure of the Union. — Carried.' For the motion— Messrs Nach, Macmillan, Prendergast, and Palmer ; against — Meesrs Matheson and Giesen. Resolved, That ia the opinion of this meeting it is advisable that an amateur athletic protection society be formed, having its headquarters at Palmerston or Feilding. Resolved, That in future any affiliated club wishing to avail itself of the service of a player who is taking part in either junior or senior championship matches for any affiliated club must obtain a transfer from the Union. Resolved, That unless arrears due by the Marton Club are paid by 3 let May, they be struck off the list of affiliated clubs of the UnionNotice of motion was given that only two rounds of junior matches be played.
