EGMONT RACES. [Per Press Association.! Hawera, May 9. First Hack Flat— Man-o'-War 1, Ascotvale 2, Starlight 3. Also ran — Hark, Nugget, Disraeli, Clayton, Clematis. Won by half a head. Egmont Steeplechase — Roscius 1, Booties 2, Raven 3. Union Jack, Parnell, and Austral also started. Union Jack fell the second round, and Parnell and Austral baulked. Raven and Booties fell at the last jump when the latter was leading. Booties was remounted bj' J. Russell and beat Raven for second place. Time, 7min 1 3-ssec. Dividend, £8 Bs. Second Hack Flat — Lord Vivian 1, Man-o'-War 2, Tonganui 3. Bowshot, Dummy, Starlight, Disraeli, Voltiguer, Ulster, Golden Lock, Secrecy, Buckley's Chance, and Blue Bonnet also ran. Won by half a length, Time, Imin 24sec. Dividend, £11 9s. Final Steeplechase — Rambler 1, Egmont 2. These where the only horses to finish. Mollyhawk, Prospect and Sprevdon also started.
