THE KIWITEA FORD.

TO TnE EDITOR OF THK STAR. Sir,—l would advise the Council not to spend more of the ratepayers' mouey on the Kiwitea ford at preseut. I came from Birmingham last night. The ford is all right —not two feet of water at the deepest. What we want is a couple of lights for dark nights, aud more sticks with pieces of rag on, the height of a man's eye in a cart, and about a chain apart, so that they can be seen when the cart's lamps aro lighted. Whatever is done will be swept away by the next flood. We cannot expect to have a dancing iloor to drive on beforo the new bridge is built. I am, etc., G. Martin. Feilding, May 9th, 1595.
