Messrs Abraham and Williams report : — At Palmerston on Saturday sheep mustered largely in excess of advertised numbers. Cattle remain quiet. The sales were in buyers' favor. Beyond a line of fresh 2^-year steers which did not sell, the entry was limited. We quote : Sheep — Wethers in forward condition, 7s 2d to 7s 6d ; fat ewes, 4s 9d to 5s 6d ; ewes and wethers, 5s 6d; 2-tooth ewes, 5s 6d ; 2-tooth wethers, 5s to 5s 9d ; breeding ewes, 4s 3d to 5s 6d j; culls, Is ; shorn lambs, 2s 6tl. Cattle— Small weaners, 16s ; others, 235 ; 18---month steers, 38s to £2 Is ; 18 to 20---month steers, £2 8s ; 2-year heifers, £2 3s ; cows in calf, £2 11s ; fat cows, £3 17s.
