J^eyislator and Waiuku carried on the running- to the back of the C'-urse when the former fell away and The Artist and Spindrift closed up. Russell kept Waiuku pom« all t,he time and won by a length, half a length between second ana third. Time, 2min 16sec. Dividend, £2 16s. Steeplechase — Austral 1, Fishmonger 2. All the others fell. Minerva and Raven were scratched. i'"ish i jnong i er ran off at the last fence, otherwise the finish would have been interesting-. As it was Austral won I.')' a furlong. Time, 7min 4sec. Dividend, £23. Hack i^ace — Swordfish beat nine others Dividend , £4 16s. Electric Handicap — St. Clements 1, St. Laura 2, Aphony 3. Also started — King's Bowman, Golden Fleece, Searchlight, Cheque, Revolution, Ben Varro3 r . A «-ood race. Won by a length and a half. Time, Imin usec. Dividend, £2 17s.
