Messrs Abraham and Williams report : On Friday at Levin a good muster of sheep came forward. Wet and boisterous weather prevailed the greater portion of the day, which doubtless accounted for the meagre attendance and the limited business done, The supply of cattle was small. At Palmerston yesterday sheep mustered numerously and largely in excess of advertised numbers. Buyers preferred to adopt the slower process of treatin? privately afterwards, than bidding under the hammer, the consequence being a dull tone throughout. In the manner mentioned, we succeeded in affecting a substantial clearance. Cattle remains quiet. The sales to-day were in buyers' favor. Beyond a line of fresh 2i-yr steers, which did not sell, the entry was limited. Sheep— Wethers in forward condition, 78 2d to 7s 6d ; fat ewes, 4s 9d to 5s 6d ; ewes and wethers, fair mutton, 5s 6d; 2tootk ewes, 5s to 6s; 2- tooth wethers, 5s to 5s 9d ; breeding ewes, 4s 3d to 5s 6d ; culls, Is ; shorn lambs, 2s 6d. CattleSmall weaners, 16s : others, 28s ; 18---months steers. 38s to 41s; 2-yr heifers, £2 3s ; cows in calf, £2 lls ; fat cows, light weights, £ 3 17s. F.
