Howard, a stylish American visitor, has been arrested on a charge of being concerned with other prisoners at present in custody in the extensive forgery of bank notes. He had .hundreds of forged notes of French, . Belgian, and German Banks in his possession, and a complete engraving plant was found in his chambers at Belgravia, in the West End of London. Accused explained that he was a scientific experimentalist, and did not forge notes for circulation.
