Manchester Road Board.

Mr Conway, the retiring member for No. 6 Ward of the above Boad Board, addressed a meeting of ratepayers in the Aratika schoolroom last night. Mr Colby was voted to the chair. After reviewing his own conduct as member for the last two years, Mr Conway touched on the various improvements that had taken place in the Ward, and the damage done to the roads and bridges by the recent floods. Mr Conway was pledged, as he always had been, not to raise the rates, and if returned would do his utmost for the Ward in general. The speaker's straightforward and manly address was listened to with the utmost attention, and after several questions had been put and answered the folfowing resolution, proposed by Mr Thornley, and seconded, was unanimously ae;reed to : — " That this meeting:, whilst thanking Mr Conway for his past services, pledges itself to secure his retura as member for No. 6 Ward."
