Stock Market.
Messrs Gorton & Son held their monthly stock sale at Feilding yesterday afternoon. The entries of cattle and sheep were about the average. All the sheep yards, with the exception of one lot, were sold at prices equal to recent quotations, showing a demand for good wethers. As to cattle the sale was practically Jifeless, only a few buyers being present. Following are the Auctioner's quotations : — Cattle. -Forward bullocks, £4 5s 6d to i' 4 10s ; forward cows, £8 to £3 ss ; 1 fat cows, £8 15s ; 18-moth to 21-month steers .£1 10s to £2 Is ; 2-year steers, , £2 7s; wcaners, 13s to 19s. Sheep.-r---2 and 4-th wethers 6s 6d to 7s Id; 2 and 6th wethers, 6s 3d to 6s 6d ; young ewes in lamb, 5s 3d ; lambs (good) from 3s 8d to 3s 8d ; inferior lambs, Is 3d to 'is ; fat ewes. 5s 6d ; old ewes, 2s to 2s 3d ; crocks 9d.
