A man styling himself Joseph Autain Stanislus Poinabewhiski Count de Blannethal, lecturer on phrenology, was convicted on two charges of petty larceny at CambridgG. Sentence was deferred till three charges of horse stealing had been heard. H.M.S. Rapid has received orders to proceed from this port to Samoa, and sails on May 6th, The brig Vision, of Auckland (Captain Campbell) from Rockhampton to Kaipara has put in at Russell with her sails blown away and short of provisions. Dunedin, This Day. The Rugby Union executive instructs the secretary to apply for affiliation. The Live Stock Trade. o (Per Press Association.) London, April 22. The Celtic King's cattle sold at s|d to 6d. The Nairnshire's cattle each gained 30 to 50 lbs in weight. Owing to the supply of fodder running short, several head of cattle on b6ard the Nairnshire wasted during the trip Home, otherwise the shipment arrived in splendid condition, and in time for an excellent market. Forty of the cattle ex Celtic King and Port Chalmers were sold alive at £20 to £21 10s per head. The remainder were killed for the Smithfield market.
