WEST WAITAPU SCHOOL.
At the meeting of the newly-elected committee of the above-named school it was resolved—That Mr F. Pirani be nominated as a member of the Wanganui Education Board ; That Mr Galland be appointed teacher to the school ; and, That Messrs Hubner Bros., the contractors for the erection of the school, be requested to proceed with the work at once. A working bee was formed, the members of which were to meet on the following day and clear sufficient land on which to erect the school. It appears that the contractors had been delayed on account of there not being sufficient ground cleared on which to erect the building. The timber has been stacked on the section for over the stipulated time which is required by the Board, and the building would have been erected in time for holding the annual meeting' had the ground been ready. (This meeting was held at Messrs Ranson and Son's store). The Chairman stated that he would notify to the members when the next meeting would be held. The meeting then dispersed.
