Harmonic Society.
The annual general meeting of the Feildiug Harmonic Society was held in the Foresters' Hall last evening, there being 2f> members present, with the Rev. Tunes Jones in the chair. The balancesheet, which ■was adopted, showed a substantial balance of £6 Is 2d to the credit of the society. The election of officers resulted as follows: — President, Rev. Innes Jones ; vice - presidents, Messrs Greenwood, Sorley, and J. C. Hill ; secretary and treasurer, Mr W. B. Gicsen; librarian, Mr F. W. Treseder ; conductor, Mr Greenwood ; deputyconductor, Rev. Innes Jones ; committee, Mrs Macarthur, Miss Giesen, Miss Lily Roe, Messrs Johnston, Matheson, and Spence ; piauiste, Mrs Caldwell. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the out-going officers, and it was decided to hold the first practice of the season on Thursday, the 25th inst. Judging from the interest shown at the meeting, the society should do good work during the ensuing season, and should their efforts be crowned with success no doubt wo will have the pleasure of having two or perhaps threo of their concerts during the winter months.
