Tho ship Largiemore from Rio when in low latitude was for five days completely hemmed in by an immense collection ol icebergs, estimated to be 800 miles in length. She collided with a berg and received considi-rable damage to her bow. The position of the vessel was so serious that the boats were provisioned in readiness to leave her. At the sale of thoroughbred yearlings a Lochiel Algeria colt brought 225 guineas, while for the Kirkham youngsters the following were the top prices ; Colt Coil by AhfrcornaCopra. realised 1000 guineas the purchaser peing Mr Bayley of Ballar.it; Abercorn-Trafalgar gelding, 350 guineas ; Abercorn- Percussion gelding, 260 guineas. Melbourne, April 17. Some experts believe that the tunnel accident was caused by a vessel touching the ground over the spot.
