The Missing Naval Officer.
(Per Press Association.) Sydney, April 12. The missing officer of H.M.S. Mildura is Assistant-Paymaster Coulton. No trace can be found of him. Some ir- , regularity occurred in the accounts, and thQ Admiralty requested an explanation ' by letter, and subsequently by cable, , but Coulton failed to obey instructions. For this he was placed under open arrest < on board the ship. Although some cheques amounting to less than remain to be accounted for, the matter | may be merely one of accounts, and j there are no grounds for supposing the . officer is guilty of embezzlement.
