Easter Holidays.

+- Easter, 1895, will mark an important epoch in the history of Feilding, when the largest number of visitors that have even been attracted here at one time will be present. In addition to the usual attraction of the Easter races on Monday ana Tuesday and the recently established Temperance Demonstration on Easter Monday, several thousands of additional visitors will be attracted by the annual ENCAMPMENT of volunteers from Wellington, Taranaki, Napier, Marlborough, and Nelson, in addition to the corps on the coast, with a small detachment of the Permanent Artillerymen. Volunteers have already commenced to roll up and by daylight to-morrow morning the camp, which is situated on the eastern side of the Oroua river, opposite Mr Roe's residence, will be alive with our defenders. The usual manoeuvres and camp routine -will be gone through on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and finishing up with a erand review on Monday afternoon. Until Colouel Pitt arrives, the camp orders will be unknown, but we understand an additional attraction will be afforded on Saturday and Monday in shape of sham fights which will probably be held on Mr F. Y. Lethbridge's property from the old race course over a large area of country. We are unable to speak officialty, but the men may be marched out after breakfast and positions taken up about 9or 10 a.m. . The review will probably be held on Monday afternoon in a paddock adjacent to Mr Roe's house. Trains with the several corps may be expected to be arriving all uight from the north and south. The Palmerston North Rifles will arrive by the 7 a.m. train on Friday, and the Palmerston Mounted Infantry may be expected to march into their camp quarters at about 8 o'clock. • GOOD FRIDAY. The temperance de ! monstraiion promises to be more than usually attractive. A procession will be formed and inarched up Manchester street to the Oval, where speeches will be made by Mr P. Pirani, M.H.R., Mr G. Carson (Wanganui), Mr Atkinson (Wellington), Mr G. Grant (Palmerston), Crabbe and several others. The Feilding racas will afford the sporting fraternity on the coast an opportunity of witnessing some good racing, and the attendance should be larger than on any previous occasion, especially on the first day.
