Wanganui Education Board.

The sitting of the Wanganui Education Board was continued yesterday, when a letter was received from the Cheltenham committee calling attention to tbe shelter- shed, commenting on the fact that painting had been done or Sunday, and applying for a window tc be put in iv the north-west end. — Resolved, That tbe Board does not think it desirable to put a window in there. Resolved, That £2 be granted towards tbe cost of gravelling at the Pohangina school. A letter was received from Bnnnytborpe applying for fencing and small repairs. — Resolved, That the fencing and gravelling could not be dealt with at present, but that the carpenter would be authorised to attend to the necessary repairs. A letter was received from tbe Pernberton teacher, re low attendance at his school ; also, from settlers at Rangiwahia, pointing out the difficulties ol attending the Pembcrton school. — Resolved, To acknowledge receipt of Pernberton letters and to reply to those interested at Rangiwahia that the Board had already decided with reference tc tbe matter. A letter was received from Beef Creek, notifying that a school bad been opened there, and adding tbat tbe_ settlers would cloeni it a favor if the inspectoi would visit the school when next in the vicinity. An application from Makino for additions to "residence was referred to Mr Fry to arrange, the expenditure not to exceed i'2;3. The tender of Messrs Hubner Bros, (at £156) for additions to the Feilding ■ School was accepted. .
