Kiwitea County Assessment Court.
Tuesday, Apbil 9th, 1895. (Before Mr Stanford, S.M.) The above court eat in the Cheltenham school house to hear objections to the valuation roll of the Kitritea County, Mr Goodbehere appeared in support of the valuations. The follow* ing objections were heard : — Ke John Bryce, Kimbolton riding, £6500 on sections 243, 245, 272, 273, 274, block I, Pohangina, containing 1051 acres, tin iuereasg in assessment of ,£789. Mr Bryce appeared in support of his objection. Reduced to £5411, the last valuation. lie J. W. Anderson, Hautapu riding, 612 acres, valued at £1831. Valuation reduced by consent to £1600. Re T. Bryce, Kimbolton riding, 1289 acres, valued ut £8388. Reduced by consent to £7762. ' Re J. J. Bryce, Apiti riding, 735 acres, valned at £2661. Reduced by consent to £2583. Re R. E. Beckett, part section 69, Block 111, Apiti and section 1, Block X.V-, Hautapu, valued at £9273. — Area reduced to 1983 acres and ass3Ssed at £5964 by consent, the area having wrongly been started at 301 acres. Re C. Boohing, Apiti ridirg, 103 acre?, valued at £-382. No appearance, objection struck out. Ec Brewster and Wolton, Apiti riding, 1068 acres, valued at £2937. — Reduced to £2000 by agreement. Re Cameron and McGregor, Hautapu riding, 694 acres, valued at L 2591. — Reduced by consent to L 2333. Re J. McCJlenaghan, Apiti riding, 228 acres, vakert at £916.— Reduced to £792. He town sections, Rangiwahi i, lie objected to being rated tor sections 29 and 158 as they did not belong t> him. — Alteration to bo made. Town sections 162 and 163. The name ofocenpier to be subs itU'ed by consent. Re Annie Dick, Apiti riding, 620 ncres, valued at £2136. — Valuatiou sustained. Re Edward Davies, Hautapu riding, valued at £450. No appearance, struck out. Re H. D. Denshaai, Onjro riding, 610 acres, valued at £0?63. — Keduced to £2240. Ru tt. G. J. Franklin, Hautapu riding-, 640 acres, valued at £1920. —Reduced to £1600. Re J. B.French, Apiti riding, 364 acres, valued at. £1274. — Reduced to £818. Re A. N. Galpin, Apiti riding, 64.0 acres, valued at £] 760.— Reduced to £1280. He W. Hair, Ongo riding, valued at £1920. — Valuation upheld as a copy of objection had not been lodged with the Council's Clerk. Re G. K. Jack ton and Ellen Jackson, Apiti riding-, valued at £5?5 (230 acres) and £625.- The former amount was reduced by consent to £462, and the latter to £500. Re R. Gladstone, Apiti riding, 375 acres valued at £1400. — Reduced to £1000 by consent. Ec Gower and Grice, an alteration of name. — Agreed to. Re E. Haythorne, Kimbolton riding, 45? acres, valued at £3?56. — Reduced by consent to £3300. Re J. Keenan, Ongo riding, 320 acres, valued at £960. — Reduced Dy consent to £820. Re Win Morton, Kimbolton riding-, 375 acres, valued at £3000. — Reduced to £2250. Re Robert Mcßeth, Kimbolton riding, 1000 acres, valued at .£Booo.— Reduced to £6500. Re G. McGregor, Hautapu riding, 500 acres, valned at £1750.— Reduced to £'1250 by consent. Re O. McKinnon, Apiti riding, 203 acres, valued at £867.— Reduced to £800. Re E. W. Rose, Apiti riding, 158 acres, valued at £573.— Reduced to £471 by consent. Name removed from "roll for section 46. Ro J. and F. F. Stevenson, Hautapu riding, 460 acres, valued at £1380. — Reduced by consent to £1150. Re C. B. Swainson, Hautapu riding, 640 acres, valued at £2093.— Reduced by consent to £1650. Re R. Taylor, Ongo riding, 158 acres, valued at £908.— Reduced to £750. Re W. Warren, Apiti riding, 169 acres, valued at £680.— Reduced to £550. Re J. J. Williamson, Waituna riding, 1373 acres, valued at £8914. — Reduced by consent to £7690. Re S. Williamson, 1393 acres, valued at £9054. — Reduced by consent to £7785. Re H. C. Wilson, Waituna riding, 220 acres, valued at £1500. — Reduced to £1246 by consent. Re Mary Wilson, Ongo riding, 584 acres, valued at £1752.— Reduced to £1350. Re H. C. Wilson, junr., Ongo riding, 520 acres, valued at £1560.— Reduced to £1050. R© D: Wood, Apiti. riding, 395 acres, valued at £1560.— Reduced to £1800. Mr Goodbehere asked the Magistrate for his ruling of the Act dealing with rating on small grazing runs, objections having been received from G. H. Beard, Bruce and Burrell, B. and H. Miller, and \W. Watson, to their valuations.
