Campbelltown Notes.

| From Our Own Correspondent] The school children and a number of their guardians had a very enjoyable trip to Woodville. About 8 o'clock yesterday morning they assembled at the tram station and went to the Carnarvon Junction, where they changed for Pali merston, and reached Woodyille shortly after 12 o'clock Luncheon was then he)<3, games were started in the vicinity of the town till about 4 p m , when they boarded the train for home. Passing through the goreje and tunnels were great eights for the youngsters, who enjoyed the scenery very much. A good many hats and tickets were lost during the day, but beyond this nothing serious occurred. The Campbelltown school was joined bj others, so that a goodly number went to Woodviile. Whooping-cough is becoming very prevalent aroued here, and many children are suffering from it. Owing to this malady the school attendance has fallen off yerp greatly during the past month. The picnic at Mr Hanabev's, in aid of Dr Barnado's Homes, to be held on Good Friday, promises to be a great success. The new shops which are being erected give the township quite a novel appearance, and when completed will add considerably to the aspect of the place. The following ladies— Mesdames Rich, Davis, Wittington, and Merrett and the Misses Costalis, Davis, Hickford, and Richmond — are to be congratulated for the meritorious work they are engaged in, in working up a " Sewing Bee," the proceeds of which are to be added to the subscription lists in aid of the English Church. It is the intention of the members to erect the Church shortly free of debt, and the way they work for the ext tension of funds is a good criterion of their iadiminiehed faith. The following representatives have been elected in the Palmerston District .of 1.0.G.T to attend the Supreme Grand Lodge Session at Dunedin, which commences on the 16th :— Palmerston, BroGrove ; Aihnrst, Bro. Havones; Feilding, Bro. Jackson ; Campbelltown, Bro. Merret; Sandon, Bro. Reid ; Halcombe, Bro. Gill ; Bulls, Sjs. Mical ; Mar ton, Bro. Hibblewhite ; Hunterville, Bro. Coltman ; Awahuri, Bro.
