A Big Libel Case.
{PER PRESS ASSOCIATION). Melbourne, April 5. Mr Downie, contractor, is suing the Victorian Newspaper Company, which lately owned the Herald, for alleged libel in connection with the mysterious disappearance of documents from the Public Works Department. The plaintiff was engaged in the Arbitration Department at the time. Damages are laid at ,£15,000.
