Temperance Demonstration.
A meeting 1 of the Easter Temperance Demonstration Committee was held in the Primitive Methodist Church last evening. Present — Messrs J. Greenwood fin the chair), S. Andrew, H. Jolly, W. G. Shearer, and Mrs J. C. Thompson. Correspondence was received from-, L. M. Isitt, in reply to an in vita- * tion to be present, stating that as he was leaving for England he could not attend. Messrs G. Carson (of Wanganui) and Atkinson (Wellington) consented ' to attemi and give addresses, while the Palmerston, Bunnythorpe, Campbelltown, and Apiti Temperance I odges have also promised to be represented. Resolved, That the Secretary be instructed to communicate with Lieut-Colonel Newall, asking him to hold the volunteer review as early as possible on Easter Monday. Resolved, That the catering arrangements be carried out on the same lines as last year and that Mr Shearer be requested to undertake the management.
