Wellington Stock and Produce Markets.
o A. G. Tame and Co. report on the markets for the week ending March 29th : —Fat sheep— No rise, but market fairly firm, prime wethers 9s to 9s 6d ; medium 8s to 8s 6d. Fat ewes, 7s 6d, for best, inferior 5s to 6s. Fat lambs, nothing doing, none offering. Store wethers, we have made a number of sales at a slight rise on prices ruling lately and quote 6s to 7s for best stores, 5s to 5s 6d for light sorts. Breeding ewes, sales np to 6a 6d, for young ewes mixed ages ss, good f m. ewes 3s 6d to 4s, culls, 2s 6d Lambs, sales up to 8s lOd for woolly sorts, have placed large lines of rams at £1 Is for 2-tooths. Store cattle — Market dull except for young stock. "Weaners, 20s to 255, yearlings, 30s to 365, 2-year, 50s to 60s, 3yr 70s to 80s, good demand for dairy stock of all kiuds. Young cows iusfc calved or close to calving up to £9, heifers in calf, sold in lines from L4to L 5 10s. We sold a special sale of pedigree Ayrshires at the Hutt on 3rd April. Horses — Market glutted with Sydney horses and prices coming down. We offered a lot of draughts from Canterbury to a dull market. We refrain from quotations this week as only tending to mis« lead. Wool — Market decidedly more buoyant and prospects much better. The scare is over and all odd lots of wool and skins coming forward sell freely. Skins — Up to 4d to 4-£ d, per lb for best. Grain — Little doing. Milling wheat 2s 6d, fowl do, same price, feed oats Is 8d to Is 9d. ___^___
