ATTACK ON LI HUNG CHANG'S LIFE. [I'KK I'KJaSS ASSOCIATION.] Shanghai, March 23. The Japanese in attempting to land at Piscadores were repulsed with slight loss. Risings have taken place in Southern China, where the troops were repulsed by the rebels, Fh° are vow besieging Muluk. France has established a post on the right bank of the Me- Kong river, thus securing control of the neutral zone. Tokio, March 24. Li Hung Chang was wounded in the face by a young Jap while returning to his lodgings from a conference with the plenipotentiaries at Shimouscki. The man was arrested for attempting assassination, which is ascribed to misguided patriotism.
