Messrs Nolan, Tonka, and Go. report s Oar supplementary sheep fair was held in the Hawera yards on the 19th inst. and the usual monthly sale at Kakaramea took place on the 21st. We quote : — At Hawera sheep fair — Woolly lambs, 3s lid to 4s 4d ; shorn lambs, 3s to 3s 6d; two-tooth ewes, 6s 6d to 8s 6d; four-tooth ewes, 7s 3d to 7s 6d ; aged ewes, 3s 6s to ss ; fat ewes, 5s lOd to 7s Id ; two-tooth wethers, 6s 6d to 7s 6d ; * fat wethers, 7s 9d to 8s 2d. At Kakaramea—Weaners, 17s to 235; yearlings, 28s to 355; poor-conditioned heifers and calves, £2 4s to £2 lls ; cows and calves, £3 10s to £3 15s ; forward cows, £3 10s to £3 12a 6d. Sheep— 2-tooth ewes, 7/3. Matthew Henry reports of hip Palmerston North sale : — A fair trade resumed, privately at quotations. Cattle — Pat bullocks, L6 2s 6d ; store cows, L3 ; yearlings, 28s to 42s 6d : weaners, IDs : dairy cows, L 4 15s ; springing cows, L 3 8s to L6. Sheep— 2-tooth ewes, small, 5a 9d : cull lambs, 2s. Store pigs, 14s. Messrs Abraham and Williams report : — A full yard catne forward, though prices were unaltered. The sale had a livelier tone consequent upon a number of unreserved horses being offered. Others sold irregularly. Draught gelding and har- -^ ness, £Vl 10s ; fair quality hacks, £7 10« to £1 15 b ; others, L3to L 4 : crocks, LI 10a ; ponies, L2toL 4 2s 6d ; unbroken trap horses, L6 to £1 7s 6d. Mr B. E. Beckett reports that on Friclay iiia yards were well filled with cattle and sheep. He quotes : — Cattle - Spring cows and heifers, L3 to L4 5s ; yearlings to 18 months, LI 18s 6d to L 2. Sheep— Wethers forward, 6s9dto'7s2d; lambs, , shorn, 2s to 3s 7d ; woolly, 3s 63 to 3s lid ; fat ewes, 5s to 5s lid ; ewes, Rood breeding, 3s to 4s ; 2-tooth, 5s 6d to 6s 9d.
