Shippers have cabled to consignees to , cell at any reasonable price to avoid storing, and nearly the whole of last season's has been cleared, but 25,000 boxes of new season's are stored. Silver is quoted at 2s 4d 13.16 th of a Id per ounce; The rise is due to specula- [ tion on a scantily supplied market owing to the probable early termination of the war in the East.
