Providing for the Unemployed.
(Per Press Association.') Mklbournk, March 21. With a view to finding work for the unemployed the Government are considering a scheme for making advances at a low rate of interest to municipalities which have money locked up in the reconstructed banks to enable them to pro ceed with municipal work. At the present time if they wish to draw against deposits in the banks they have to pay 7 or 8 per cent- The Government idea is to make advances against deposit receipts at 4 to 4.1 per cent.
