A CONSUL IN DISGBACE. PPEB FBESS ASSOCIATION.^ London, March 21. Obituary— The Dn?hess of Leincester and Prince Waldemar of Lippe. Speaking on the Australian Customs Bill in the House of Lorda, Lord Ripon eaid it would remove fine disabilities which prevented the Australian colonies from entering into reciprocal treaties with Canada and Cape Colony. In the present state of the law, New Zealand alone was permitted to enter into agreements of this nature In the House of Commons Mr Brjce, President of the Board of Trade, eaid in reply to a question, that he declined to enter into negotiations with foreign countries with a view to prevent the payment of subsidies where the tariffs injured the colonies. The Rev John Reginald Harmer has accepted the bishopric of Adelaide. Washington, March 21. The United States Government has requested the Hawaiian Government to recall Tburston from New York on the ground that he is in collusion with the newspapers.
