An Unusual Action for Damages. (Per Press Association). Dtjnedin, March 20. At the Supreme Court to-day, William "Wintrip claimed £1500 damages from Mitchell, Warren, and others, for damages sustained owing to the negligence of the defendants, Mitchell and Warren, as trustees for Mary Brodie and others, "who \rere the owners of a section in Ratfcray street. Wintrip, who is in the employ of the Corporation contractor, was engaged cleaning the street when a branch of a tree on the section was blown down, striking him and rendering him helpless for life. The tree was a large bluegum, 60 feet high, and had been ringed. The only question submitted to the jury was that of damages, and they gave a verdict for i>sso.
